This is an album from the early 1950's that has seen a lot of abuse, but the quality of FFRR, and Miss Tebaldi, still shine through.

I definative recording from 1953 of the music that launched a thousand John William's film scores. incidently, Sir Adrian Boult conducted the premire of this piece in 1918, and you can hear that he knows exactly what he's doing. And don't we all need a little jollity in our lives?

A great, dirt-covered find. After much cleaning, a gem has been revealed! The brilliance of the performance is equalled by the brilliance of the recording. Based on a short story, Mascagni's opera is a compact, musical gem -- rather like a three act opera, without the first two acts. If you don't like opera, give this one a try. Despite its effective storytelling, it's short on words, long on great music. Two further notes of interest; The cover art was painted by a William Ward Beecher, and these are the finest MPEG3 files I have made so far -- they have the smallest file size, and the highest audio quality. Abundanza!
