Below is a more rambling description of my life.

My camera:  The Canon S-80.  Nothing out there comes close.

Paints

The black ink I use is Winsor & Newton non-waterproof india ink.  I've tried many others but they don't work as well.  The waterproof inks are all too runny or too gummy.

Between 1991 and 1995 I was in the Minneapolis College or Art and Design.  A good school.  At least it was then.  Every year more and more floor space was being filled with computer labs.  By now the whole place might be taken over.  This, of course, is good because computers just do everything better.  In 1994 I think is was, there was a proposal to ban oil paint from the painting studios.

I had a good education, but by the time I graduated, I finally understood enough to begin learing.  I needed another four years.

My computer currently is an 20" iMac, and a great machine it is.  However, my favorite computer so far has been the SE that I upgraded to an SE/30 in 1999.  Things haven't been so interesting in the computing world since they brought out OS X.  I still love the looks and performance of the IIci I used all the time back in college.  That was a powerfull machine with 16MB of RAM, an 80MB HD, and a 14" Apple-branded trinitron monitor.  Now that was power.  Why did Apple abandon the 680X0 processor?  And don't get me started on the Mach Kernel.

As you can tell I have a love-hate relationship with computers.

Movies:  Citizen Kane is not the best movie ever made.  It's among the best, but not better than The Third Man for example.  If you haven't seen Citizen Kane before I recommend it, but prepare to be surprised -- it's all quite different from anything you've read about it.

If you like the film Breakfast at Tiffany's I say read the book.  Then you will feel disgusted with yourself for having ever liked the film version in the first place.
